Obituary for Dorothy Jean "Lenny" Reed

Dorothy Jean Reed, the daughter of the late Fletcher and Janie Pace Reed was born September 9, 1953 in Tuskegee, Alabama. She departed this life on June 7, 2017 at the Inter Faith Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Dorothy was educated in the Tuskegee School System. She attended the Macedonia Baptist Church in Tuskegee. During the 1960's she relocated to Brooklyn, New York. Lenny, as she was often called by family and friends, was a loving mother, a caring sister and a person who loved everything and everybody.

Dorothy worked as a Nurse's Aide at the Brooklyn Manor Nursing Home for 25 years. She also fostered 3 boys for 15 years.

Dorothy was proceeded in death by three brothers, John Henry Reed, Willie Reed, Fletcher Reed JR. and three sisters, Rebecca Reed, Lizzie Bryant and Hattie Rushing.

Dorothy leaves to cherish her loving memories: a son Darryl Reed of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a sister Esther (Curtis) Burrells of Passaic, N.J.; two special cousins Lowell Pace and Ford Pace, Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
